That's it - the artists and developers at Blizzard have finally gone mad to bring us Heores of the Storm - a game that puts all heroes from your favourite Blizzard games like Starcraft, Wacraft and Diablo together.
While I am still Beta testing the newest Blizzard game Hearstone, I got drawn to the web site of their new game - Heroes of the Storm. The cinematic video is epic. I am a huge fan of not only Blizzard games but also the books that accompany them, so to see Jim Raynor fight Diablo really got me excited.
The gameplay itself looks kind of like Diablo or some Warcraft III missions - viewed from the top, you control your hero, have some special abilities and defeat your opponents. However, those opponents are other players and you get to play in a team. Seems like a response to games like League of Legends or Dota 2 that let's face it - exist thanks to Warcraft III.
With Hearstone and Heroes of the Storm underway, it looks like Blizzard is trying to go back to its good old days of creating small fun games. With experienced people behind them. Or have they run out of ideas and are unable to create a compltely new, independent game franchise? I guess time will tell. I personally can't wait to see how they will take the MOBA genre of hero fighting and levelling up and (hopefully) put something new into it. I'm signing up for Beta testing now!
